The US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) began with the efforts of George W Bush in 2003 followed by President Obama to prioritize the deportation of undocumented immigrants with serious criminal records. In 2018, Donald Trump’s first week in office his executive order was a “zero tolerance policy” to target ANY undocumented immigrant. Along the US borders, families were being separated, detained and criminally charged.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a program intended to allow undocumented immigrants brought to the US as minors to legally remain in the country to study and work. Dreamers do not receive financial aid and are not guaranteed a path to citizenship.
